The Joys of January // Looking Ahead, Issue 1 (VII)

 It's 2018!

*inhales happily* A year of fresh starts. 2017 was pretty good - two new additions to our family, Mia and Kit!
I know this is a 'Looking Ahead', but I want to look back over 2017 briefly and choose my favorite post from each month!

January - The Ice Princess Probably one of my favorite photoshoots EVER.
February - I STILL Love AG And I'm Proud of That
Wow. This one got a LOT of views... and went pretty crazy.
March - Spending a Day in Space
I loved making this: the foil and improvised spacesuit, the moonsand, the foil landing pad.... the flag... EVERYTHING WAS SO FUN!
April - 6 Tips on How to Be a Doll Celebrity XD XD This one was one of my pet projects. It's like, a sarcastic poke of fun at celebrity stuff.... May - Mia and Star Another photoshoot. How original... June - Adventure in the Attic
This was so much fun to do - it took like, two hours in 100+ degree summer attic weather. *swelters at thought* But it was TOTALLY worth it. :) July - Triple…

The Gorgeous Grace and the Generous Giveaway

Remember how I posted about how my friend Samantha was having an absolutely awesome giveaway from AGDA? Well, guess what?
I won! I was so excited!
We were driving home from Spanish lessons *gags* and piano lessons *cheers* when my mom stopped to get the mail from the mailbox. As soon as she opened it and I saw pink flowers on a package, I squealed, "That's mine!" Yes, I was excited. :D When I opened it, I found a ton of fun stuff!
{disclaimer: background is an unmade bed. whoops. I was too excited to make my bed!}
A mini Meet Rebecca book, nail polish stickers, an AG School Stuff journal, ADORABLE GOLD GLITTERY HEART STICKERS *dies*, super cute hairthings (not shown) and just WOW!
And then.. this! :) I LOVE the color (and the gold hearts, and the doodle design)!!

Inside was a super sweet note written in a cat card. :)
And then, the long awaited beautiful dress..
See that pretty pink poking out?
AHHHHH!! It's gorgeous! It's beautiful! It's pink! It's super-duper soft! It's from AGDA!
Can you tell that I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Now, also in my possession at the time of receiving this package was a gorgeous doll named... Grace! If you've already read the first part of Julie's birthday party, then you know who I am speaking of.
Anyways, if you haven't, go read it. And then come back (so pretty much, just open it in another tab).
But one problem before I could launch into a fullblown photoshoot....
It was raining.
What was I to do?
Well, the only logical thing. Go out in the 50 degree weather (yes, Fahrenheit - WOW! I actually spelled that right on the first try!) onto the front porch barefooted, with a camera dangling around your neck (avoiding getting it wet or banging against the banister, of course) and carrying a doll, trying to keep her dry.
I must say I succeeded. ☺
But of course, you wouldn't want to see the pictures, would you?
1. Don't want to see the pictures
2. Do want to see the pictures

So beautiful! It falls gracefully above the knee and the material is so incredibly SOFT! I want a dress like this! I'd wear it all the time!!! :D

Grace. is. beautiful.
And it is only fitting for the beautiful doll to wear the beautiful dress, do you not agree?

Yes, pose, Grace! And twirl!

Why do I like this picture sideways?

Augh! Photos don't do this dress justice!

up close shot...

I am in love with this doll and the dress!

  1. Beautiful pictures! What we do for doll photography sometimes, very brave of you, and I must say I'm glad you risked it to get them. They're simply amazing. The dress is darling on Grace! Congrats on winning!

    1. Thank you! Oh, yes... :D How very dangerous it was. :D Thank you! I agree, it's very pretty!

  2. Wow! I need to stay more up-to-date on blogs having giveaways! Grace looks so adorable it hurts!

    1. :D I post about some giveaways pretty often! :D Samantha's grandmother did a wonderful job!

  3. The dress is simply adorable on Grace! You are such a great doll photographer, and I love Grace's hair in pigtails! Ahh, I know all about risking stuff for doll pictures, I took pictures in the middle of a road. the DOTM post with Bowie and Paisley was in the mud and Paisley was in a white dress, I've dropped Emily in a river, and I almost got slime in Amelia's hair yesterday! Eek! I'm also a fairly clumsy person, so I look way worse than my dolls ever do when I'm taking pictures...Just imagine me in pajama's barefoot, a spray bottle and brush in one hand, a camera in the other. XD
I'm so glad you loved the stuff I sent, and I hope you get a lot of use out of all of it!

  4. Congratulations! The dress is adorable on Grace!
