life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

~ Beach Days ~

Ah, summer. The wonderful three month vacation that everyone loves so dearly.
Well, to introduce myself, I'm Elly. As some of you know, we went on a beach vacation last fall - and right before we posted these pictures, the USB drive cracked with all the pics on. Thankfully, they've been recovered! And what a perfect time to share them, don't you think? Well, here's to a 'Splendidly Summery Saturday'!
***********************************************

Katie and I stood on the sandy banks of the ocean, the waves lapping up against our feet.
Let me explain about that shell on Katie's shoulder. I dared her to keep it on for more than two hours without knocking it off or touching it with her hands. I promised I'd buy her ice cream if she could balance it that long. I really didn't think it was possible.

"So, should we build a sand castle?" I proposed.
"No. I can't lean over without sending this little shell flying." Katie retorted (somewhat sensibly).
"Seriously?" I whined.
"Yes."

Josie looked up reproachfully from her book and beach towel.

"Just get along. We're here to have fun," she reminded us.
"Okay," I complied.

"Here, you stand still while I line shells up around you."
"I was planning to do that anyways."

The waves were so gorgeous. We had already played in the surf for a while though, so I wasn't too tempted. I'd rather play volleyball or build sand castles.

The breeze whipped my hair around my face. Thank goodness I had put it up in a messy bun today!

I gazed dreamily over the ocean until Katie's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Hurry up!" she exclaimed.

I laughed, and then looked out over the ocean again.

With one last glance at the beauty of the waves, I continued.

I stopped halfway through and drew Katie's name in the sand. By that time, she had gotten so fed up with the shell that she'd already knocked it off. No ice cream for her today!

"See Katie," I pointed out. "It's a great photo opportunity!" Light4theLord laughed from the background and snapped a shot.

"And it's a great signoff pic," L4TL added.

When we were done, Katie and I walked along the beach.

Pretty picture, isn't it?

Katie's footprints are so pretty!

Oh, and how perfect! Light4theLord waited forever for this picture (with the wave)!

Afterwards, we did play a little bit of volleyball before Light4theLord had us pose again.

Friends forever!

Whoops. We didn't look at the camera, did we? I think Josie was trying to tell Katie something and I was reading the words upside down.

A little better.

A teensy-bit better..

Friends forever!

  6. Ooh, cool pictures! I especially love the foot print one? They are beautiful and Elly is so pretty. I want to take a doll with me to a beach if I go. Does your doll get dirty in the sand? Do you have any tips on it?

    1. Thanks! Yes, that's one of my favorites too! She's extremely photogenic. :) I do suggest that you take one that doesn't have loose limbs. So long as they'll stand up, it's pretty easy (but I suggest not getting sand in the camera... hehe. Whoops)! Have fun!
