life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

Paparazzi, Popcorn, Pillows = Party! {Part 2}

After everyone finished their posters (you'll see them in a little while), I gathered all of my guests around the floral table.

"Alright," I said with an air of authority. "This is the biggest activity. Are you ready?"
All of my friends nodded and cheered.

"As you can see, I have printed out clothing designer sheets for each person," I motioned to the stack on the table.
"Oh my goodness..." Grace gasped. "Are we going to...."
"Design our own outfits!" I announced. "But the best part is yet to come. First though, come and get a sheet of designer paper."

Everyone dashed and scrambled for papers.

Elly and Mia nearly collided at the table, but thankfully, they didn't.

Pencils were distributed as well.

"Now, for the revelation of the biggest factor," I proclaimed dramatically. "If everyone would please line up against Light4theLord's bed," they complied.

Madi held up her phone with a flourish as it played the Fox Century theme song. Everyone knows the one...
Dun du du dun dun dun dun du da... yeah, nevermind.

I stepped back and set my gaze on the table, which I had just cleared off.
"If you would do the honors," I asked L4TL (who was promptly photographing everything)

She reached over from behind the camera....

..revealing the table turned on its side.... full of fabric!

"Now this is the fun part," I declared. "Not only do you design your outfit - you choose one of these bases for your outfit from this large selection of fabrics! Some are already partially sewn (baby clothes), but you will have to figure out how to make a..." I paused for a dramatic effect.

Pink, purple, white, black...

"You will have to create a red carpet fashion! After everyone finishes, we get to walk the runway!"

Everyone dashed for the selection.

Grace got there first and walked away with a bundle of black with white polka-dot fabric draped over her arm.

She took her fabric along with her pencil and paper and went over to a place on the floor where no one else was.

She quickly began designing.

Kit departed from the 'Creation Station' with a bundle of shimmery black fabric.

Soon, she was also sketching, thoughtfully looking at the heap of fabric for inspiration.

Katie was probably the least excited of everyone. With a sigh, she plopped down in front of the Creation Station.

"Hmmm..." she murmured, surveying her choices.

"Ta-da!" she announced proudly before standing up.

She left with her pencil behind her ear and some lacy white stuff on her arm.

Mia then got a hold of some leopard print ruffled stuff...

Elly had some polka-dot netted stuff..

Madi's base was a long pink tutu..

Amy had some slippery purple lilacy fabric..

Samantha had black lace..

And Josie decided to opt out of it and just work the sewing machine for everyone. She's so super sweet.

The hubbub was just... wow. Insanely silent. The only noises were pencils scratching on paper as all of my friends (and myself) were drawing the designs and snipping away with scissors. The hum of the machine was constantly going as Josie worked it.

1 HOUR LATER

Everyone was finished with their designs, though L4TL and Josie were the only ones who had seen everything. Next up?
Hairstyling.
Josie had taken charge of this, and stocked it with bows and ribbons, hairthings, bobby pins, a spray bottle, hairbrush, and Madi's laptop to look up hairstyles.

First up, Grace.

Mia was next..

And then Kit's challenge of short hair..

Katie's wild mop of flippant locks..

Madi's shiny blonde hair..

Amy's waves..

Elly's long hair..

And then it was time for....

THE RED CARPET RUNWAY!
Cue the paparazzi! Don't blink at the flashes! Prepare for a contract!
'Cause it's....
Runway time!

Madi's phone was blasting AG songs from a playlist as we each took our turns strutting our styles.
First up, Grace Pauline Thomas, previous GOTY 2015, and DWAF at MBM!

She is dressed in white platform sandals and a billowy black and white dress with a shiny black shrug.

Her hair - a flower blossom style(weird angle, but...).

Next up, the stunning, turquoise-eyed Kit Kittredge Forsberg!

She is in a true red carpet dress - an asymmetrical neckline,

with the long shimmery skirt tightly wound against her ankles with a gathered edge.

[front view]

Miss Kit Kittredge!

hairstyle: accent flower

Our next runway model, Katie Kittredge, one of the seven stars of DNA!

Her stunning blue eyes add some color to her..

white lace dress!

Her hair, in a stylish bun with a sweeping edge to the side, is totally in.

shoes: white platform sandals

The next lovely red carpet walker, Miss Elizabeth Cole - the elegant, horseback rider, star of DNA!

Her long, sweeping gown is decorated with silver and black dots.

She also adds to the outfit with a velvet black shrug.

Her showy accent flower is simple, but lovely.

Our next young lady is..

Miss Madelon Sarah McCormick! Named after three of L4TL's good friends, hosts her own blog, and former DOTM, please welcome this dancer and blogger!

She has a simple pink ribbon choker (pink is her signature color),

that matches her flowy long skirt.

Her hair, done in a Dutch braid into a side bun, is as always - lovely.

She also designed her lace off-the-shoulder top!

The next girl to strut her stuff - Samantha Parkington!

An amazing writer, we see another side of Samantha as she shows a black lace dress.

It reaches her ankles and is very sharp looking against the red carpet.

Her hair is elegantly twisted into a bun (see below photo for more detail).

And... even though you can't see it, there's a perfect bow at the waist.

And the lovely, the famous, the all-star animal lover... Mia St. Clair Forsberg!

With cute platform sandals...

A pretty black top and shrug..

And an awesome animal-print ruffled skirt!

Her strawberry-blonde hair is such a unique color!

And it is neatly tied back in a Celtic knot.

{aerial view}

Who could this belong to? Several layers of flowy white, gray, and pink tulle...

The birthday girl is modeling this tule gown!

Welcome Miss Juliette Albright!

Yes, that is my hairstyle.

When I asked for this one, Josie was doubtful that she could do it.. but she did!

#newfavhairstyle

I love how elegant and twirly this dress is!

[aerial view]

Next up, we have the beautiful blue-eyed Amy Sorrenson!

She has created and modeled this lavender lilac dress for us today!

Her hair is loosely braided into a Bohemian style, with loose curls falling from beneath the braid.

I'm officially jealous.

Her hair is a golden, flaxen color, with those gorgeous curls!

Group picture! Look at all of the lovely models!

Are you ready to see our movie posters?

First up, Amy's elegant one:

Masquerade: DANGER LIES BENEATH THE MASK

Alright, I would go see that one. That's just awesome!

I think that Madi's is ingenius.

Dream: worlds collide

It's about Kailea & McKenna Brooks - dance or dare! She told me about the plot and everything (if you've read the one and only DNA magazine issue then you know who Kailea is)

Katie's was horses:

Rising Star Stables.

You probably already know that Katie isn't the most artistic of us all. :) She's the athletic one, of course!

Mia's awesome poster matches her dress!

WILD: a documentary

It looks really professional, I think!

Kit's is great too!

Switch & Swap: Twin Trouble

And she found the title in the AG magazine cutouts!

I'd watch that one! I can just imagine it now...
onto our next one!

EVERYWHERE SHE GOES
adventure follows

How appropriate - Grace, the traveler, did the traveling one. I like how there are the shoes...

Sounds interesting!

Now for mine!

Harmony: an autistic musical genius

I was really happy with the way this one turned out!

Josie did the above: Big Goals

And I'm sure you can guess this one - ready?
Pawsome: a tail of friendship
by..

Elly, of course!
********************
After we did all of that, we changed into comfy stuff (I have to admit - that dress was kinda scratchy) and had..
PIZZA!!!!!!!!!

Yes, beautiful, magnificent, lovely, delicious.. Pizza Hut pizza #loyalpizzahutfan

Is that not delicious looking or WHAT?!

Mia is my forever friend - she loves pizza almost as much as I do (she says she loves it more, but that's impossible)!

And I love pizza. ♥♥♥♥

Soon, after three boxes, there were only two, sad pieces left. So Mia and I each had another. :D I think I had four pieces... maybe five... or six... doubtfully seven... possibly eight
After we ate, guess what time it was?
#moviemarathon

L4TL set up the red carpet and several popcorn cups - and popcorn toppings!

Dried cherries are i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e.

and cashews are pretty good..

We all changed into our PJs (well, most of us), and got comfy before the movie started.

Katie and Kit really hit it off, though I'm kinda afraid they were planning something... mischievous.

Grace and I chilled in the basket chair..

And (from left to right) Elly, Madi, and Mia hung out on the floor.

They look pretty happy, eh?

We watched the Chrissa movie..
Katie loved that.

This is a picture of Mia getting dried cherries to put in the popcorn dish that she shared with El and Madi.

#ilovedriedcherries

Madi does too.

mmmmmm... deliciously delightful!

Don't you love the popcorn cups? L4TL made them herself..

All of us watching the movie...

The two Ms fighting over popcorn..

popcorn again, just this time with nuts..

The ending of the Chrissa movie..

L4TL, that's really bad lighting. You should do better next time. *pauses* She said she'll try.

And then we watched the Molly movie - boy was that fun!

Molly, Linda, and Susan's nose.

Another awfully lighted photo of the backs of my and Grace's head. (I think that's grammatically wrong)

What would be a movie marathon without the Grace movie?

Or the Lea one..

Or the Melody movie..

By the time we finished the Isabelle movie, everyone was asleep. No kidding.

But it was really nice and comfortable!

#emojiblanket

The three musketeers...

    1. :D I really enjoyed doing it! I'm not exactly sure where it came from, or if I just modified some of the basics from a different post, but it's pretty much just bobby pins and a braid. Wanna know how? Mwhahaha.... maybe I'll tell you soon! :D
Aw, thanks! I wish it was better though!
