life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack o...

January DOTM, Madi's First Snow, er, Ice

I thought I was going to have my first snow and I had everything planned out: my sisters' outfits, my camera settings, the dog bow (don't ask), and everything... and then it iced. ICE instead of SNOW. Still, I got a few pretty pictures of Julie ice skating (hey, sorry about making you wear a sleeveless skating dress, sis) for a DNA special coming up (it was pre-announced earlier but L4TL decided to postpone it until this year, and now I get to handle the photography!). I'll share some of the pictures at the end of the ice pictures of ME... and again I'm wearing my favorite outfit!
This might be my new profile picture. I'd like to change it... but I'm not sure. What do you think?

I love snow! It's fun to get all bundled up and ready to venture out...

The sun was just rising in this picture, that should tell you how early we woke up (Light4theLord and us dolls). Because... The Ice Princess was taken even before this!

I really like my hat, I think it's adorable!

Or perhaps this as a profile picture?

You can tell that it wasn't a lot of snow, or in our case, ice.

But it was enough for pictures! There were icicles EVERYWHERE, so I'll show you some pictures I took with my new camera (which I'll have to show you in a later post).
So, all the trees were encased in ice - it was so pretty!

Even these pretty leaves were covered in ice!

Here's a picture of the monkey bars with icicles hanging!

This is my very favorite icicle picture that I took! The sun was just rising behind it, causing the bit of bokeh!

If you shook the blueberry bushes (above), it sounded like glass shattering! It was so funny that Elly and I kept doing it over and over and she suggested that we make a recording of all our sound effects: 'glass breaking' and marching people (the grass crunching)... we didn't.

That picture just doesn't do it justice. At least I tried, though! I'm still working on working with my new camera!

Now, for Julie's pictures...
So, we decided that the description of the main character in L4TL's story (the DNA special) seemed to define Julie to a T! I DID kinda feel sorry for Julie, though. I made her ice skate in, um, a short sleeve dress.. yeah.. cold.. and she didn't have leggings. Anywaaaays, here are a few pictures (most of the good ones) that might be used later! And believe it or not, she actually got to SKATE on REAL NATURAL ICE! Seriously! Light4theLord was trying to fill buckets or whatever so that we might be able to get some shots. But then, when we all walked outside, there was a ditch with a LITERAL sheet of ice over it! It was PERFECT! Even though (this is pretty funny) Julie kept on breaking through it... but like I said, it was only a sheet, so she didn't hurt herself. Really, though, she broke it THREE times!

There was even a branch frozen on it!

In the story, the main character loves wearing her hair in a ponytail, so I advised Jules to wear her hair like that. She took my advice... :)

When Julie stepped onto the ice, she started skating (or, uh, sliding!), so I started snapping pictures EVERYWHERE! Julie is a pretty good skater, but she'd never skated on natural ice before! It was pretty funny (sorry, Julie, but I just HAVE to tell them) seeing her get used to it. By the time she actually got used to it, the ice would break *facepalm*.

Isn't it a pretty picture though, with those white leather skates and shiny blades and crystal ice.

Spinning!

I LOVE this one, but I can't use it in the story *brushes away a tear* because it's supposed to be a professional ice skating rink...

Let me just tell you, laying on the ground and ice is COLD! But, ANYTHING for pictures, right?!?!

It. was. amazing.
Not the best, but pretty neat!

I really like this one!
Now, for a change of scenery (you know why? 'Cause the rest of the ice broke. XD).. can you guess where this was taken?

And that's the end of the pictures!
What did you think? Did you like my outfit and the icicles? What about Julie? Did you guess what she was skating on afterwards and which was your favorite pic?!
Love,
Madelon
