Elizabeth stood excitedly where Grace had led her, in front of the gift table (that had been cleared off).
"Close your eyes!" Josie called. Elly obediently did so.
Josie carefully lowered the cake onto the table, and told Elly to open her eyes.
"Oh my goodness!" Elly exclaimed, looking down at the cake, and then up to Josie.
"Really you guys?! Where'd you buy it?!"
"We didn't buy it," Josie informed her. Elly gaped.
"We made it!" Grace grinned, then anxiously asked, "Do you like it?"
"Of course I do!" Elly assured her.
"Your birthday cake was baked by your sister and the champion of the Masterchef Junior Baking Edition, and decorated by an artist trained by some of the best French bakers!" Josie explained.
Then Grace began singing and everyone joined in.
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Elizabeth, happy birthday to you!
(an extra picture to see the tiny 'Happy 13 Birthday' that I iced, and all the edgework! It was super fun and I'll tell you what it was really made of at the end!)
Elizabeth cut into the cake and gasped.
"You guys totally know my favorite!" she exclaimed.
"A double-layer marshmallow vanilla sheet cake!!!" Elly lifted of the first slice onto one of the plates.
"Try it first!" Josie urged, with everyone agreeing. Elly gave a tiny smile before taking a bite.
"It's delicious!" she declared.
Everyone grabbed refreshments from the table.
Drinks...
cupcakes...
sandwiches and fruit...
The table, which everyone had worked on so hard to decorate, was beautiful.
Elizabeth held out one of the pink frosted cupcakes.
"Thank you guys ALL for all your hard work, your decorations, your time, your gifts, the food, I love you guys so much!"
"We love you too!" her sisters cried in unison.
"This has been the BEST birthday - EVER!" Elizabeth proclaimed.
"Happy birthday, Elizabeth," Samantha said.
"Would we do this for anyone who wasn't as awesome as you?" Katie teased.
"Thank you."
And that's how Elizabeth's best birthday ever came to an end.
Elizabeth had her first birthday party in her whole life here on November 5, 2016.
And everyone who loved her was there to celebrate with her.

How was that? Did you like it?! I had so much fun working on this a couple weeks ago. It took forever to get all of it up, but there it is! I can't wait until the next birthday (hint: Josie's birthday - the baker!) party! Do you want to know how I made their cake?
It actually started with the square s'mores marshmallows which I featured in
this post! We had half a bag full, and I decided to use them as a cake! I used four, hot glued them together, and decorated the cake first with plain white icing and then with leftover icing from the back of the fridge... which is EXACTLY why I threw it away as soon as I was done. (yuck!) It was gorgeous, though!! I put it on a plastic lid covered with foil, and I loved it! I had so much fun doing all of this - it was the highlight of my week! The drinks were made of wooden thread spools decorated with sharpies. :D Do you have any ideas for the others' parties?
