life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

It's a Small World, After All

An Original Dolls N' All Photostory
It was a sunny afternoon and the three blondes, Katie, Elly and Julie were headed to a friend's house.

Julie glanced across the way.
"Okay, and now my phone says to turn left."
"Are you sure?" Elly inquired, glancing back at the way they came.
"Yes, I'm sure." Julie rolled her eyes. "I'm sure it's this way." Katie silently watched, but was doubtful as well.

"Come on," Julie insisted. "It'll be fine. Now hurry up!"
Katie still hesitated as the others entered through the door.
"Uh, you guys...." Katie whispered. "You know, I'm not positive this is such a good idea..." A hum of quiet voices mixed into one floated through the half-open door.
"Oh, don't be a baby." Julie sighed. "Come on you- oh!"

The three stood silently, gazing over a town filled to capacity of tiny people calling to one another in the streets. Julie quickly glanced back at the door that didn't exist anymore.
The town was alive with children playing at the playground, cars driving up and down the streets and purchases being made.

Katie gaped at the tiny hotel van that whizzed by care-freely, as though Katie didn't exist.
"Where are we?" Elly questioned the tiny people's existence.
"I-I'm not sure." Julie replied.
"Are we dreaming?" Katie said aloud, then pinched herself. Making a face, she reassured herself, "Nope. I'm still here and alive, awake, and alert."
Julie now stood above a building labeled, 'LIBRARY'. They were silent and as the threesome listened, they made out voices.

"This book is one of my personal favorites," A curly-haired librarian said to a child nearby.
Katie and Elly walked over to a row of houses and stood in the middle of the road. No one noticed, no one cared. It was as though they weren't even there.
"We're like giants." Katie said in awe, watching a mare and her foal in a paddock.

Julie pointed to a child nonchalantly reading a book by the huge windows.

More children sat inside, working on projects or reading other materials.

Julie strolled over to the row of houses with her sisters and she and Katie glanced through the windows.
Tiny squeaks and squeals were made by two guinea pigs being fed by a responsible boy in his bedroom.

"It's real," Katie said in hushed tones, holding a mystery book in the palm of her hand.
The park was a fun-looking place, and a young lady was trotting her horse across the grounds at a steady pace.
"Good boy, Cremello, good boy." she laughed and called to the man ahead of her. "Wait up Jonathan!"
A little girl sat in the sandbox, playing with her toys.
Julie walked back over to the center of the town in just a few strides, still fascinated by the buildings including the library, a doctor's office, and even a tiny store.
A transaction was being made by the banker and the lady.
"Thank you," she said as she took the ten-dollar bill from the teller's window.
Julie and Elizabeth stood in the midst of the town, the tallest building only coming up to their waist.
"Everything's so little!" Elizabeth smiled and watched a horse canter across the town.
Katie peered into the houses. "This is kinda cool..."
A lady sat at her sewing machine. "Yes, that's right..." she murmured, snipping and sewing.

Suddenly, Julie's phone went off and she sang the little tune along with it.
"It's a small world after all," Julie mused, glancing down again at the miniature setting.

"It's a small world after all," Elly chimed in beside her, staring at the store.

"It's a small world after all," Katie hummed by the poolside.
"It's a small...

small...
                                     world..."

The three sisters concluded as they cast one last gaze across the busy little town.

Okay- hope you didn't mind that one being... short. :D Anyways, hope you liked it! There were actually three reasons why I did this today:
1. For you to enjoy
2. To promote my brother's Playmobil blog
3. To nominate the 'It's a Small World After All' doll blog award!
So, down to business! First of all, I'd like to share that my little brother has a new Playmobil blog (they're actually tiny plastic dolls, if you think about it) and he just got started and I'm helping him so check it out now, and then check back in a couple weeks! Adventures in PlaymoCity, Jr.

Now, I also decided to try my hand at the doll blog award thingys! Anyways, I get to nominate five bloggers, since I made this thing up! Here are the rules:
1. Post a photostory (it can be short) that includes things that are miniature for dolls, like above. That means it has to be something miniature x2 for us!
2. Answer five basic questions (below)
3. Answer and ask two other questions that you make up.
4. Nominate the other five doll bloggers!
If you get nominated twice, just do it... or you don't have to and just tell the person that nominated you. Enjoy!

I nominate the very first five of this award:
Kaitlynrh1 of Kait's AG Crafts
Rutvi at Buzz About AG
Loren at Happy House of AG
A Doll's Life
Lilly Maiden from Lissie & Lilly

Here's the five basic questions:
How old were you when you got your first AG doll, and who was it?
Which three dolls would you get next, even if they've been archived?
How long have you been doll blogging?
Why did you start a doll blog?
How are your dolls 'related' on your blog? (sisters, not related, cousins, friends, etc._

And here are my two questions!
This or That: photostories or photoshoots
What's your favorite thing on a blog (or, what should I put on mine!)?

And there you go, the 'It's A Small World After All' Doll Blog Award!

Here's some bonus pictures- seriously, I worked hard for this one, persuading my brother to let me put ACTUAL water in his pool!

And I'm so proud of my little vending machine... it's part of my first playmobil set!

And here we have the four-star hotel van. With someone that looks rather  creepy in the backseat- blame the lighting. :D

And, in case you've forgotten....

"It's a small, small world."

I was nominated for this by Kaitlyn and was wondering, how does the extra two questions thing work (rule 3)? do you ask yourself two questions or do you answer the two questions you put or...?
    Thanks!

    1. Thank you!
Well, you answer the questions that Kaitlyn asked and then come up with two to ask someone else. So, you ask the people you nominate the two questions! Hope that helped- if not, let me know! :D
Thanks for checking out my blog!
