life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack o...

Camp Dolls N' All: Day 3, Tired Feet & Tents

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Early Wednesday morning, Josie woke each camper with the warning, "We're going on a nature hike today. Wear comfy shoes, comfy clothes, and I recommend braids."
After lunch, each cabin was given a different map to locate the camping spot for the night.
Julie and Noelle, of course, texted each other before hand and began a competition to see who could dress the best and still look good at the end of the day. You'll have to vote on that later.

Narrator's POV
"We'd better head out," Mia called, strapping on her blankets for the campout. The four girls from Cabin White Birch stood at the front of the campgrounds and stared at the map. Soon, they were on their way.

"I hope we don't have to do a lot of climbing," Julie sighed. Katie quickly disagreed.

Mia led the way after a few minutes, with her bedding-pack matching her outfit and hair.

"Come on, you guys, it's this way." They filed through the path.

There were some dusty paths...

... some rock walls to climb...

... precariously...

.... overgrown paths to stride through...

.... more paths...

.... rocky paths...

.... shady paths...

... lots of roots...

The sun was beginning to set when four weary travelers from Cabin Dogwood spotted tents.

"We're here!" Noelle squealed.

"Finally!" Kit declared.

"I want to take a nap." Madi joked.

Two plain white tents were set up for each team. Josie sat on a pink cushion, waiting for the campers to arrive.

"Oh, I have died!" Kit exclaimed, throwing herself on the ground. "I claim that tent!"

Elly and Noelle went over to Josie and sat down.

"I was so not expecting to have to cross that brook." Noelle grinned. "Madi fell in. That was really, really funny." From one of the tents came the retorting, "I ONLY TRIPPED SLIGHTLY!"

Within a few minutes, though, Kit and Madi were sound asleep, taking a nap in their tent.

Noelle and Elly supposed the other for Cabin Dogwood was now theirs!

About an hour later, as Josie was cooking hotdogs, the other girls arrived.

"Ahhhhhhh........ Josie, you're so mean. It took us so long..." Julie moaned, flopping down in front of the fire.
"And I gave you guys the short map..." Josie mused.

"They had a SHORT one?" Noelle protested.

The fire burned happily as they first toasted their hot dogs... and then roasted marshmallows.

They sang around the campfire for a while, and then one by one they retreated to their tents.
