DIY Doll Hammock Tutorial ~ June DOTM ~

Ahhh.........

​Oh, hi! I didn't see you there. I was just chillin' in this awesome hammock Natalie made me-and today she will be showing you how to make another one! And meanwhile, I just get to hang here in my hammock. Ahhhh........

​You Will Need;

• An old dishtowel that is at least 20'' long. It should also be at least 10'' wide, so your doll doesn't fall off
• Two 10'' long dowels
• two old shoelaces, or other strong cording.
• A needle and thread or a sewing machine (not shown)
• Your doll (duh! )

You will also need a basic knowledge of sewing and some pins.

Step 1. Lay your doll down in the middle of the dishtowel, and fold over one inch at the top and bottom near her head and feet. Pin.

Step 2. Sew a straight line to secure your fold. Remove the pins as you sew, and try to sew on the hemmed edge of the towel, so it won't fray.

Repeat Step 2. for the other end.

Step 3. Slide your dowels through your casings, and scrunch the towel up around their middles.

Step 4. Loop your shoelaces over the dowels like shown, and tie twice.

Lay your doll down in her new hammock to make sure everything is the right size.

To hang, find a branch sturdy enough to hold your doll, and tie the way you'd tie your sneakers. (which should be easy, 'cause they're shoelaces!)

Ta-Da! Your doll now has her very own hammock! And no one will ever know you made it from a dishtowel!

It must be pretty comfy, because Adalyn has fallen asleep in it!
