life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

My Wonderful Birthday

Hi there! It's Josie here, since it's my birthday. I asked my sisters for just a nice, calm, relaxing Sunday - no party, no gifts, nothing big or hubbub-ish. They still insisted upon one gift.
Evidently, Grace was in on it too (hence the wrapping paper) and had me over for a baking date while Jules took the others shopping. :)

I love the paper!

Yes, that's me. Bashfully smiling...

I hated ripping it, the paper was so pretty!

My sisters know me all too well. They got a Cranium game that we could all play together! Now we only need one more doll and the teams would be even!

Julie and Amy were on one team (this picture is of them attempting to ahem, figure out the directions)...

And then there was Sam and Katie, and Elly and Madi. And of course, me. :)

It came with a timer...

Game pieces...

And a die!

This is about halfway through the game. It's super fun. You roll the dice, move, and whenever you land on planet cranium, you get to get a card.

You have a teammate do the challenge and make you guess what it is for the charade/acting and the art/sculpting one. Lucky Jules... she got Amy the artist as her partner!

This is Amy doing the one where you have to close your eyes. She said it was something like a blind conture... or something like that.

Here's what hers ended up looking like... any guesses? The clue was 'thing'.

Elly was rolling with laughter when Madi had to spell asparagus backwards.... XD
"S..... U? G.. gus... asparagus.... A-R-A.... aragus....asparagus.... A-S-P?!"
That was a hard one.

For me, it was a factoid. I had to correctly answer the question to move onto the fast track.

Question: What is the largest animal ever to inhabit earth?

That one was extremely easy. I knew it from fifth grade science.
"A blue whale," I stated with confidence. "A human baby can crawl through its blood vessels, and the heart is the size of a VW bug."
"A punch buggy!!" Katie exclaimed.
"Yeah," I replied with a little laugh.

It was quite comical watching Katie do the acting. This one was parachute. Don't ask...

Before that, Jules had done my hair in the gorgeous Irish Luck Braid Hairstyle (tutorial here) that Samantha from AGDollAwesome did! Madi then insisted on taking my picture during... what was it that she called it? Golden hour? Anyways, I think she was more obsessed with the solar flares... or light flares... or sun streaks... or whatever she called them. She was thrilled that she got them naturally.

Evidently, the little light thingies are those green dots. :D

This is the gorgeous hairstyle!

The sky was gorgeous!

Here's another view of the hairstyle. :)

Identical to the one above, in my POV, but Madi said they were different... maybe the size of the dots?

I hope you enjoyed this! Anyways, the first episode of SOS is going to be up this week! Hopefully, it'll be up every one/two weeks depending on the schedule. :) It's an approximate 8-parter. Can't wait to read your comments!

  1. Amazing job on the Irish Luck hairstyle, Josie and Elizabeth looks ADORABLE in it! BTW, is her dress made out of a jean leg? If so, that's adorable and super thrifty, I love it! Hmm, I've never tried Cranium, bu one of my faves is Pictionary. Great post, hope Josie had a good Birthday. How old is she turning?
