Christmas Afternoon, Josie's POV
"Oh!" I whispered as I held up a pretty cherry print apron. "It's lovely!"
"Thank you Sarah! It's just right, and I can't wait to use it!" I examined it even further to find a fun pocket.
We started again with Amy, but this time her gift was from Julie, her Secret Sister.
"Yay!" she opened the box and found two necklaces.
One had an A, for Amelia, and the other had a single blue bead that shimmered in the light.
But beneath that was a cloth item inside tissue paper that was Amy's second favorite color.
"A party skirt!" she gasped, holding it out for everyone to see. "I can't wait to wear it! When's the next birthday?!"
Sam opened hers from her Secret Sister, Katie.
"I wonder..." Samantha grinned at Katie.
After taking out the tissue paper, she slid the gift out of the bag onto her lap.
"A desk lamp," Samantha murmured. "It's just what I needed! Now I can stay up late and read while you all sleep!"
"Noooooo!!" Katie and Amy moaned.
"Just kidding," Samantha giggled. "But my gifts do go together! Thank you Katie!"
Speaking of which, Katie went next.
She extracted from a gift bag her present from Sarah and Lucy....
A wooden beaded necklace!
"This is great!" Katie held it up for a picture. "Thank you very much, Sarah!"
Elizabeth got a gift from Samantha, in a bag that said 'Christmas goodies for a special sister'!
The tissue paper was tossed aside and Elly pulled out a...
dog collar for Honey!
"Thanks, Sam!"
*Madi's POV*
A few other gifts were passed around, and I got to open a few of them - they were all clothing for us to share. I knew my sisters didn't know I was coming, but I thought at least one would know.
Two presents were left. Josie and Julie were the only two of the original six to not have receive two presents yet, so I figured that the silver box was for Josie and the bag for Julie.
"Madi?" Josie held up the bag. "This is for you."
"Really?!" I gasped as I looked up at her.
I pulled out two peppermint disks, and a piece of paper.
As I unfolded the scrap, I read outloud. "Coming soon for Madi!" Drawn beside it was a picture of a camera.
"I don't understand," I stammered.
Josie explained. "I ordered your present over a week ago and it was supposed to arrive on the 22nd... but it didn't. I'm really, really sorry and I felt really bad that I didn't have your gift yet, but I'm sure it will arrive soon!"
A tear slipped from my face and I turned away from my sisters for a minute.
"Josie," I told her when I regained my composure. "You have no idea how much this means to me. I really thought no one knew I was coming and I had given up hope of gifts this Christmas. But even better, I'll be getting a camera. I had one and was a photographer before my former guardian in the foster home dropped me off. I never saw her again... and I wasn't able to bring my camera. Thank you so much, Josie." Sam, who was sitting next to me, reached over and gave me a hug.
"You're very welcome, Madi," Josie got up and gave me a hug as well.
Josie opened her last present, from Amy.
"It's cloth..." she guessed.
"Cool!" Josie showed us all the handiwork that Amy had done in making her a gray felt messenger bag. "Thank you, Amy, I'm sure it took you a while! Maybe L4TL will have you do a tutorial, because it's really super awesome!"
Amy blushed in the praise.
"I came... with a gift for Julie." I retrieved a red box. "She was my Secret Sister. Light4theLord helped me pick it out, too."
"Me?!" Julie rose and came over to me. Amy scooted over so that Julie could sit down beside me.
"It's gorgeous!" Julie whispered.
"Open it!" I urged, excited to see if she liked it.
Cracking open the box, Julie peered inside and gasped. "No. Way."
On a soft padding lay a golden necklace with her name on it, 'Julie'.
"Ooooooooh!" our sisters oohed and ahhed over it.
"Thank you so, so, so, much, Madi!" I reached around and fastened it around her neck.
"It looks great on you!" I encouraged. It did, the pretty gold laying on the velvety black.
"Let me take a picture of you two," Light4theLord instructed, and so together we posed.
"Merry Christmas!" we chimed.
And so it was, my very first Christmas here at Dolls N' All. I, Madi, can't wait for my Christmas package to come in the mail. Light4theLord will have to tell you the story of it sometime. She said I might after wait for it even AFTER my big debut.... which you'll find out about on..... January 1st! Along with all the other DNA surprises, that is! I'm so happy I'm here with my sisters now! Since I'm a photographer (and dancer!), I'm hoping to help Light4theLord still be able to post often, since she has to start school back next week *sniffs sadly*. I also get to post on the blog whenever I want to! I'll keep it a doll blog, don't worry, but maybe I can persuade Light4theLord to get me my own page: Madi's Musings! Anyways, be on the lookout for something involving OUR dolls!

Merry Christmas a little late, ya'll! I finally got this up (do you know how annoying it was NOT to be able to post because of the USB drive?!?!?!? REALLY REALLY ANNOYING!) a few days after Christmas.... yeah. Anyways, I have a TON of surprises coming on January 1st, so stay tuned please! The story of Madi's camera is confusing: my little brother ordered it for me for my Christmas present, and he ordered it so that it would arrive on December 22nd. It didn't. It STILL hasn't arrived, and we messaged the sender but they never replied. Amazon finally sent us a message saying that the sender decided to leave Amazon and gave us a refund. :( I hope to reorder it soon, though, with the refund! I REALLY need it to come in January sometime! You'll see why soon!
