life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

The Christmas Celebration, part 1

Christmas Eve, 2016    *Josie's POV*

Light4theLord had told us all to go get ready for bed and to come back when she told us to. It was odd, for she had been in the clubhouse for a while. All six of us girls were ready, and impatiently waiting to be allowed back in.
At last, Light4theLord motioned us back in.
For a moment, we were speechless. Mini Melody sat in the chair smiling, a pile of red, green, white, and gray stockings stacked around her. And behind the chair was a fireplace with hangers for each stocking!

Mini Melody seemed to invite us to come choose our stockings, so we ran and did so.

I held up a pretty red and green one. Perhaps...

Katie found the red and white one and thought it was cute. None of us wanted to choose until we saw all the options though!

Julie stood, poised over the chair, eyeing the stockings observantly.

Finally, a row of six pretty stockings lined the top of the fireplace that L4TL had worked so hard on.

The tree was decorated (we'll have pictures of us decorating it soon! We know it's a little late, but the USB drive replacement finally got to L4TL!) with candy canes, paper chains, ornaments...

There were stacks of presents underneath (including some mysterious ones that will also have a post of their own soon!), and we were all dying to know what was inside of them!

L4TL and us dolls had tied red bows to the posts.

And we hung a wreath on top!

The banner that L4TL had made was strung merrily across the front of the clubhouse, its cheerful colors welcoming us.
And then the beautiful fireplace!

Our little sock snowman was perched upon a container that L4TL had received a gift in.

And our Christmas dresses were all laid out! After much excitement and examining of the stockings and presents, L4TL finally made us go to bed.

Katie, Amy, and Samantha were sleeping on one side of the clubhouse (after much persistence, L4TL agreed to rearrange everything so that we'd be really close to the clubhouse on Christmas morning!), and I hoped that they wouldn't stay up too late.

*Samantha's POV*

I so badly wanted to finish the last bit of that chapter, but Katie kept interrupting.

"Sam?" she asked.
"Yes?" I replied, looking up from my book.

Amy was already asleep. Go figure.

"Are you excited about tomorrow?" Katie asked.
"Uh-huh," I told her.
"I'm really excited. I can't wait to give the present that I got for someone. It's my first Christmas with my family."

I hadn't thought of that. I closed my book and snuggled down beside Katie.

Of course, I kept it nearby.

"I'm excited for you," I told her as I pulled the blanket over me. "Merry Christmas Eve."
"Merry Christmas Eve, Sam," she told me. "Good night, sis."

Then I reached over and held her hand.
And then drifted off to dreamland.

*Josefina's POV*

The three of us older girls were still hanging out in the clubhouse, chatting.

"Do you think you know what you're getting?" Julie asked.

"Nope," I responded, holding Mini M. "Do you?"
"Absolutely not," came the reply. "In fact, I only saw one present under the tree with my name on it."

"Well," Elizabeth began. "I don't know about you two, but I'm going to bed."
Elizabeth was such a great sister.

"'Night, Elly," Julie said, turning to face her.
"Merry Christmas Eve," I told Elly.

I glanced down at a present that was for Elly with the saying 'for a special sister'. That was true alright.

Elly turned to go.

Her long blonde hair cascaded down her back and I smiled fondly as I remembered the Christmas she had arrived.

Julie turned back to me and was about to say something when Elly poked her head in.
"Hey, and when you come, don't wake me up please!" she begged. Jules and I laughed, but promised we'd try to be quiet.

A little while later, I got up to go to bed.
"I'm tired," I told Julie. "Join us when you want." And I proceeded to join Elly underneath the warm blankets.

*Juliette's POV*

I followed Josie a little while later, leaving my favorite pink slippers by the fireplace. I wondered what the next day would hold. And where was my missing present? Everyone else had two...

Pushing the thought to the back of my mind, I crawled into bed and fell fast asleep.

*Light4theLord's POV*

Finally, I thought. They're all asleep.

I reached over and pulled out the unnoticed sewing pin from the corner of the fireplace.

I placed it beside all the others, but in the process knocked most of them down.
Oops, I thought. Oh well. I hope they don't notice.

I hopefully hung up a seventh stocking that I had hidden away. Just for precautions. It's better to be safe than sorry at least.

I would know the next morning.
