life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

Copying Someone's Instagram for a Week ~ A DOTM Post ~

Maryellen here! Today I thought I’d bring you something extra special!
Drum roll please. . .. .

COPYING SOMEONE’S INSTAGRAM! :D

(Jenn wanted to do a boring overused post, but I convinced her to do something kewl :D)

Now time to say who’s Insta we copied . . .
The one and only. . ..

McKenna Grace! @mckennagraceful

She starred in the movie Gifted, and plays Rose in the Netflix show Fuller House!

We chose 5 of our favorite photos of hers to recreate, and it turned out great! (you can also see these photos on our instagram, @agtwinziez! shameless self promo 😏)

The first photo we copied:
I thought this photo was really cute, and since Paige has her bunny Nutmeg, I figured it couldn’t be that hard. The only problem was that Mckenna has short hair in this photo, so we kind of just pretended my hair was short XD

Here’s the recreation:

I know it’s brighter, my hair’s long, and the tree’s skinnier, but I thought it was pretty cute. One detail Jenn made sure to include was how the left side of my hair was tucked behind my ear and the right side was in front, like the photo.
Overall, I’d give it 7/10.

The next photo we copied:

This photo was the one we were most concerned about recreating because of McKenna’s black hair and the editing, but at least her hair length/texture is the same as mine in this photo! We decided to give it a shot.
The recreation:

I love this photo so much! It just looks so perfect! I know the bricks are the wrong color, the dress is a greeny yellow instead of a pale yellow, the seal is brown instead of gray, the bow is golden instead of yellow, I’m not centered in the photo, and the greenery was on the wrong side (pants for breath), but I still love it even if it’s not very similar! Emily did edit it so the sides faded into dark, which I thought looked cool. When they chose this photo, they didn’t realize they had a miniature seal XD but they actually found one.

Similarity wise, I’d give it a 4/10 XD but photography wise, it gets a 9/10 in my opinion.

Next photo we copied:

The recreation:

I honestly hate this photo... XD But it’s pretty similar. The only problems were that it was on fake grass instead of a weird green plant, and the grouped threesome of flowers were on the wrong side. Otherwise, I thought it was pretty similar.
I’d give it a 8/10.

Next photo we copied:

The recreation:

I thought it looked pretty good, the only thing we are missing was the edge of the chair in the background and the cats ear covering my mouth. We actually put a dress on me backwards for the strap because one strap was thick and one strap with thin, and we needed the photo to be from a certain direction XD. Jenn also insisted on having the top of the water bottle in the background.
I’d give it an 8/10.

I honestly love this photo! It looks really sweet. The only thing was that I wasn’t looking at the camera. Hmh. Fun fact, the flower crown actually came from Dolls N All herself!
Overall, I’d give this one a 9/10.

I hoped you enjoyed those recreations! Which one was your favorite?

I’ll be back next week with another post! Until then, over and out!

  1. I think you're too hard on yourself. You've definitely imitated the photos from instagram to the best of your ability with the overall nature of the original. Which is my favorite? The one with the kitty.
