life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack o...

The Christmas Craft Collab: No. 8 - DIY No-Sew Apron

It's... it's a very sad day. Not only was the Nutcracker called off, but it's.. it's the last CCC. *wails*

Over the course of this month, I hope you've enjoyed the four Christmas crafts here and the four over at Delightful World of Dolls by the epic Madi!
(she's totally epic, ya'll. Her contact on the phone I use to text her is literally 'the epic madi')

There's been a week for décor, food, clothing, and now... gifts!

Today's craft, the DIY No-Sew Doll apron, is absolutely perfect for the doll who loves to bake! Actually, Grace and Josie made this one for their awesome friend Gabby!

Ready to find out how you can make this absolutely adorable apron?
Let's do it!
Just warning you, though, this was around midnight and I used my sister's phone. *cringes* Bad idea.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU WILL NEED:
all of my favorite things
just kidding... kinda. If you've crafted with me all month, you'll know my favorite crafting supplies:
hot glue gun (PLEASE do this with an adult's permission... unless it's around midnight)
felt (red, white, green)
scissors
embellishments (like mini pom-poms!)
red cord (at least 24 inches)
optional: mini cookie cutters (I got these from Hobby Lobby - aaammaaaaazing store!)

The first step is to cut a rectangle of green felt about uhh.. *racks brain to remember how long* eight inches by four? Yeah. Let's go with that. And then you'll need a 24 in. strand of cord. Hot glue the cord onto the felt and fold the felt over for a cleaner edge (also hot glue that.. with permission of course.).

Cut a 4x2 in. rectangle and a 4x1 in. rectangle. Hot glue three sides (two sides and bottom) of the 4x2 to create a pocket. For the flap, just glue the top of the 4x1 in. above the 4x2. Or, just look at the picture and avoid getting confused.

Add POM POMSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS LOTS OF THEM LOTS OF THE PRETTY SHINY THINGIES! *tosses mini pompoms into the air* YAY FOR POM POMS!
Yeah. I like those things. I added some along the bottom and the flap. Ta-da! Isn't it just adorable?!?!
This is great for making Christmas cookies, or gingerbread houses...

As an extra little surprise, I added some of these mini cookie cutters.

So, craft this little apron and wrap it up for your baker!
Merry Christmas (almost)!

Oh, and hey - don't forget to email photos of any of the CCC crafts you've done (2016 or 2017, mine or Madi's) to dollsnall4ever@gmail.com! (Madi's email is on her blog. :D)
If you send it in TODAY, you'll be featured in Madi's recap post over at Delightful World of Dolls!

  1. AHHH THAT'S SO CUTE! I know my Josefina would love this.

"Or, just look at the picture and avoid getting confused." XDDD THAT'S EXACTLY SOMETHING I'D SAY IT'S PERFECT. XDD

By the way, did anyone send you any pictures of crafts of yours or mine they've done? Are we BOTH doing CCC recaps on Christmas Eve or what? I have mine already typed up and scheduled (just updating it now with this craft) but wanted to make sure in case you had any other ideas.
