life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack o...

Camp Dolls N' All: Day 4, Sports!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, everyone woke up sleepily in their tents and headed out for breakfast. Josie briefed everyone that the plan was to hold two of the athletic competitions here on the camping field, and two back at Camp Dolls N' All.
The first one was a footrace - running. Noelle and Samantha represented their teams.

It was a close race throughout the entire race, with one girl being ahead, and then the other.

With a final surge...
Noelle threw herself over the finish line.

Cabin Dogwood: 1
Cabin White Birch: 0

It was sisters in a fight now - a game of soccer was the next sport. The teams argued over who would represent their cabin, because no one knew what the next two would be. They had to be something that wasn't so outdoorsy.... Julie guessed it would be swimming and gymnastics. Either way, Katie would definitely be their gymnast.

When Josie called go, the two raced towards the ball, trying to get it over the opponent's line.

Mia made contact first, and scored a perfect goal.

Kit, who had opted to play barefoot, scored one a few minutes later.
The battle went back and forth. The first girl to five goals would win it for her team.

They were tied at four when Kit made an open shot - or so she though. With an agile leap, Mia caught the ball only a foot before the line and brought it down. Moments later, Mia was given the winning title.

When everyone hiked back to camp (much to Julie's dismay), they found that the third challenge wasn't gymnastics or swimming... but horseback riding!

As soon as Elly mounted, everyone knew that no matter what Julie did, El was the winner.

Elly's seating position was perfect, and as she rode for a few minutes to show off her skills, she posted at a trot and approached an obstacle boldly.

Such a tiny log was absolutely no problem for Elizabeth. She was a natural horsewoman.

The horse leaped over the fallen tree and claimed Elizabeth's point for her team.

Depending on what the next sport was, Cabin White Birch could either tie the score or definitely lose.

Much to their delight, it was gymnastics.
A girl from each team was given a short period of time to exhibit moves in a floor routine and on a small beam.
Katie, the last girl on Cabin White Birch, rose to the challenge - or lack thereof.

With an impressive forward tuck which she had been practicing at the huge competitive gym back home, Katie began her routine with a solid and impressive mount.

She performed a one handed cartwheel, and spun when she landed.

A front aerial walkover came next...

.. and then a wolf turn...

A leap and then..

A back handspring (and yes, the photos are blurry. That's called 'action'),

- perfectly demonstrated -

Another forward tuck into a dismount.

And a stuck landing!

Katie's floor routine was her first place state winning one. Madi couldn't beat her.

Katie's sassy, bold moves were launched with speed, power, and preciseness.
