The Joys of January // Looking Ahead, Issue 1 (VII)

 It's 2018!

*inhales happily* A year of fresh starts. 2017 was pretty good - two new additions to our family, Mia and Kit!
I know this is a 'Looking Ahead', but I want to look back over 2017 briefly and choose my favorite post from each month!

January - The Ice Princess Probably one of my favorite photoshoots EVER.
February - I STILL Love AG And I'm Proud of That
Wow. This one got a LOT of views... and went pretty crazy.
March - Spending a Day in Space
I loved making this: the foil and improvised spacesuit, the moonsand, the foil landing pad.... the flag... EVERYTHING WAS SO FUN!
April - 6 Tips on How to Be a Doll Celebrity XD XD This one was one of my pet projects. It's like, a sarcastic poke of fun at celebrity stuff.... May - Mia and Star Another photoshoot. How original... June - Adventure in the Attic
This was so much fun to do - it took like, two hours in 100+ degree summer attic weather. *swelters at thought* But it was TOTALLY worth it. :) July - Triple…

The Time Machine ~ May DOTM ~

"Charlie!" I heard Taryn call as she ran across the lawn.

"Yes?" I said as I stood from where I was playing with Jack.

"I have made an amazing discovery!" She said as she came up to me.

"Oh no." I thought but I followed her.

She gestured to a cardboard box covered in tinfoil. I looked at it, confused.
"It's a time machine!" she said excitedly.

On one side was the word 'time' with some buttons and stickers.

On the other side was the word 'Mashine' which was crossed out and replaced by 'Machine' and a dial that read past, present, and future.

As I stood and took it all in she looked at me and finally said "What are you waiting for?"

"Get in!" she said pointed at the door.

"I'm not so sure..." I said as I sat in cramped box time machine.
"I thought you said you weren't good at science-y stuff."

"No." She said, "That's just when I have to study. And don't worry. I'm probably really good at this."

Jack came over to my boot and tried to climb in with me.

"Jack can come, too. Right?"
"Nope." Taryn said taking him away.

'I have a bad feeling about this.' I thought.

"Ready?" Taryn asked as she came back. "Um, I guess." I said reluctantly.
"Now. When would you like to go?" Taryn asked.
"Well. I guess now is the best time." I answered.
"Ugh." Taryn sighed.

She turned the dial to the left. "I'm sending you to the past!" she said.

She hit some buttons and made the noises with her mouth, but then I could feel a little vibration and then there was a whirring noise. And it started to shake.

"It's working!" Taryn shouted as she jumped up.
But then the noise and vibration changed a little.. and then it changed a lot.

I leapt out of the box and landed on my back on the ground.
And just as I jumped the time machine exploded.
"No!" Taryn groaned as she fell on her back beside me. "All that work."
"Well," she said as she sat up, never upset for very long, "I guess I will rebuild it and we can try again later."

I sighed.
"I love you Taryn." I said.

  1. Aww, Charlie's adorable. I'm glad you didn't get sent off to some far off time!

  2. This was so cute! Love this! The photography is absolutely amazing, and so is the time machine! XD

  3. Cute! And she wasn't even going 88 miles per hour! :-)
