Jumping into June // Looking Ahead, Issue 2

It's summer! *cheers* Hey ya'll! It's Light4theLord here. Since I'm homeschooled, I just got finished with that dreaded America - whoops, sorry. Can't tell you, or you might know what grade I'm in.. or not. Mwhahaha. Some of you will understand this. :) Anyways, it's SUMMER! Do you know what that means?! Well, on Dolls N' All, it means.... just a second. There's a doll that's begging for something. Okay, fine, fine, Madi. Just.. leave me alone. I want to write this part. Yes, Madi, I will let you write the next part. Just let go of me, okay? I promise! Madi wants to tell you guys some stuff too. I promised her I'd let her, so.... *reluctant sigh* Here's it off to Madi. ************************************* 'Ello, awesome readers! Guess what we all get to do this summer? We get to do lots of stuff. Wanna guess? Oh wait a second. I'm supposed to be doing the DOTM part, aren't I? Light4theLord in the distance, "YES! Just …

The Process of a Photostory ~ A DNA BTS ~

Hey ya'll! It's Light4theLord here.
I'm not making an excuse for not having part 2 of SOS up yet, but I just wanted to do this little post of what it takes for me to post a photostory.
:) And uh, also add the excuse for why I haven't posted it yet.
With only a few more weeks of school, I'm cramming to finish (which means trying to work a lot on school), and we have new chore lists (which don't actually take that long but it sure seems like it does!), and I was Mary Magdalene in the Passion Play nearby and so I've been there for a lot of last week and the week before. But I loved it! :D
I'm also reading a lot and writing a lot. :) I'm planning on a doing a post over at ALIML       on what I've been reading. :)
Anyways, you want to see the process of a DNA photostory, eh? Well, let's get started!
***********************

1. Find inspiration
For this post, I'm going to use SOS as the example.
For SOS, I got the inspiration from my awesome stuffed animals. I also wanted to use my Webkinz (such as above, except that that one is my brothers) for something here on DNA. It wasn't hard to find inspiration for this photostory series!

2. Write storyline
For example, I use the little 'camera' emoji thing and space it where I want the photos to be in the end. I proceed to write the photostory and develop the characters. I also enjoy this part because I get to write! This doesn't take too long, so long as I have the inspiration.

3. Dress dolls and do their hair
This is one of the most fun parts for me. :) I enjoy finding outfits that are perfect for the occasion, weather, and season. I then do their hair in braids, buns, and ponytails. I like matching it to their personality too! I have to always make sure that in each part, the dolls aren't wearing the same thing or don't have the same hairstyle. I goof up on that a lot. :)
4. Find the perfect scenery and make/find props
For SOS, I've been using the backyard a lot. For parts 3+ it will take a lot longer to set up because of part of the storyline. :) My mom gave me this little decorative bench that she was going to get rid of, and I gladly took it so that it would add a prop to the scene. I love the green-ness of the grass here!

5. Schedule the shoot during the best lighting and weather possible
For some photostories, it is required (for my standards) to take the pictures during golden hour - the time when I most often gone. :/ For SOS, I have to do it in the afternoon or morning..... school time.
The weather also has to be sunny, dry, and bright - but not too bright. Slightly cloudy, but not rainy. For the past couple of weeks, it's been too pollen-y (I've been waking up with dull headaches because of my allergies, and I'll be sniffling all day) or too cloudy. All of a sudden today, it just started raining. A couple of weeks ago, there was a tornado warning - three times.
Plus, it takes a couple of days for it to dry out, that way the dolls don't get wet.

6. Take photos
This is pretty tricky. I have to find enough time to squeeze it into my schedule. I don't want to be rushed, because that just makes the pictures worse. I refuse to post bad quality pictures unless it's supposed to be bad quality. :D I actually have the pictures for the second post, but they're horrible and I am adamant that I will not post those unless worse comes to worse.
7. Upload photos onto my dad's computer
The cable to upload the pictures from the T2i Canon Rebel (I think that's what the camera is, or something like that) is attached to my dad's computer out in the garage on his desk. I have to upload them onto his computer first. Depending on how many pictures there are, it can take a while.
8. Transfer the photos onto my USB drive
I have to then find the pictures from the folders on my dad's computer and copy them onto my USB drive. This can also be a long process.
9. Transfer the photos from my USB drive to the home computer
After ejecting my USB drive from my dad's computer, I run inside and insert it into the home computer. I then copy all of those files onto the home computer. Like the above step, this can also be a long process.

10. Choose the best pictures
I have a tendency to take a lot of pictures... hehe... like, 100 in an hour. :/ I like options! :D
Anyways, I have to go through each set and choose the ones that are applicable or the best.
11. Upload the pictures onto Blogger
This is a pretty time consuming step. Evidently, Blogger can't handle the awesomeness of dolls. Sometimes, it's super fast, and other times it takes forever. One of the worst times was when it was only uploading 4 pictures an hour. Can you believe that?
12. Arrange photos into the storyline
This step is easy, so long as I'm not on a laptop. :D Otherwise, dragging them into place where the handy little emojis are is easy!

13. Post photostory!
That little button that I'm about to click on after I finish typing this is the one that releases my hard work to everyone!
************************
So now, I hope you have a deeper appreciation for photostories. :D
Well, I'm going to go work on the late Easter photostory, the 'The Stars' page, clean the doll room, finish up some other chores around the house, and then go to orchestra rehearsal! :)
Hopefully, SOS Part 2 will be up soon. Did you catch the sneak peek?
