life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

The Big Birthday Bash, Part 1

November 5, 2016

11:45 A.M.

The five girls stood around, waiting for help to take everything outside. Everything was ready- except for the birthday girl. Julie could be escorting her any minute now!

"Is everything ready?" Samantha questioned.
"I think so!" Katie replied happily.

"Josie is in charge of the snacks, for now."

"The decorations are all up,"

"The game is ready!"

"And now.. we're waiting on them."
The snack table was fully stocked, courtesy of Josie.
The game had been chosen by Katie,
And everyone helped with decorations!
All the work Katie and Julie had done was still up!

 Everything and everyone.. was ready.

(Be prepared for a LOT of pictures!)
Elizabeth and Julie started the short walk home.
"Thanks for taking me out," Elizabeth commented.
"That's what sisters are for, right?" Julie replied.
"Oh really?" Elly had a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.

"What if I asked if you would volunteer at the animal shelter with me?" she asked, knowing that Julie wasn't particularly excited about taking care of animals.
"Uh, yeah," Julie said sarcastically. "If that's what you want for your next six birthdays and four Christmas gifts!"

"No," Elly laughed, then grew serious. "The best birthday gift possible would be a birthday party. I've been here for nearly six years, and I've never had a birthday party. I'm thirteen, too. I guess I should be thankful though. I got to go to Florida last week, right? I'd still like to have a birthday photoshoot..."
"That's an idea," Julie mused. "Who would you invite if you had a party?"
Elly gave her a look.
"Seriously?" she asked. Julie nodded.
"I'd invite Grace and Noelle."
"What would you say to them?" Julie prompted.
As they turned the corner, Elizabeth replied,
"I'd say that-"

She stopped dead in her tracks.
"Oh!" Elizabeth gasped. She just stood there in shock. "Am I dreaming?" she finally whispered.

Julie, curious of her thoughts, waited impatiently.

"Surprise!" they all yelled. Elizabeth and Julie approached the clubhouse, decorated and decked out in every party decoration imaginable to a thirteen-year-old.

"Are you surprised?" Julie inquired eagerly.
Still in shock and surprise, Elizabeth nodded.

"Happy birthday, sis! It's the first we've had together!"

"Surprise!" Josie exclaimed

"We've been working on it for two weeks- while you were gone! Light4theLord helped us with everything!"

From around the corner, Grace approached Elizabeth.

"Happy thirteenth birthday, cousin!" she said.

"Grace?!" Elizabeth gasped again. "No way!"

She ran and hugged Grace. "I can't believe you're actually here! That's why everyone is wearing something I didn't recognize! How'd you get here?!"
"Light4theLord brought me home." Grace replied simply.

"Okay, okay," Julie extended a crown, beautifully braided with flowers entwined in the macramé cord.

"It is time for us to crown you queen of the birthday bash, with the ceremony of the new traditional flower crown!" Julie announced.

"Really?" Elizabeth questioned. "I- I still can't believe this! It's the best birthday ever!"

"Happy birthday, Elly," Julie declared as she set the crown upon Elly's blonde locks.

"Alright everyone," Julie proceeded.

"Let the festivities begin!"
