life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

In Celebration of 3,000 pageviews!

A couple of weeks ago, I was really wanting to find some other AG lovers in the area so... I was also planning on checking out a whole bunch of the Innerstar U books from the library (inspired by American Girl Doll Artist to draw the illustrations, which will be in a later post!) and I decided to use my creativity and come up with some bookmarks to stick in the books when I returned them!
I also added on the back that if the receiver of the bookmark would like to let me know they found the bookmark I made for them, they could 'register' it here on my blog! Of course, I don't know how to truly 'register' and sign in bookmarks! So, just ask your parents, or if you already have an account, just comment below and let me know you found them! Maybe one day we'll meet and form an AG lovers club! If you've found one, just let me know which books you found it in, what number it is, and whatever else about you and your dolls you'd like to tell me!

#100 (yes, I numbered them by hundreds!) I <3 AG
This one is the only one with a matching doll bookmark for the wonderful book your doll is reading! I found it funny that I actually used the back of a Our Generation package because I loved the polka dots!
Book: A Winning Goal
#200 'Take Center Stage'
This one was made by cut outs pasted onto scrapbooking paper from a VERY old catalog! I tried to coordinate the titles or topics of the book with the bookmark! Get it? Into the Spotlight- take center stage!
Book: Into the Spotlight

#300 'Dream'
I liked this one... I put this one in one that was totally unrelated because it was one of the last ones I put in... :)
Book: Bound for Snow (see what I mean?)

#400 'So much fun to share'
This book was actually about a clothing drive labeled something 'Share' so I thought it was appropriate! Guess where the phrase came from? Another AG catalog! At this point I found out how fun it was to find little quotes and add them to the bookmark from the catalog!
Book: A Surprise Find

#500 'Friends'
I love, love, love this one! It's so cute- plus, I added another little pet to the back! I hope whoever finds this one likes animals like me! Who couldn't resist those cute little faces?!?!?
Book: A Girl's Best Friend

#600 'Exploring'
I thought the little turtle was soooooooooooo adorable! And, the little guy looks like he's about to start on an adventure, hence the 'everything to start exploring'!
Book: Taking the Reins (totally unrelated. Oops.)

#700 'truly me'
Every girl is extra special! Which is why I really like this one! Maryellen's saying in the top left corner was perfect!
Book: The New Girl

#800, #900 'What a doll!
These are cute, I think! I did the bottom one in calligraphy but it's not my best.. :( I tried though!
Book (#800): Quick Change (I really liked this one!)
Book (#900): Second Chances

Now for my very two favorites!
#1001 'Wild at Art'
I like the background on this one because I actually dyed a piece of paper with food coloring for this! I just added nature-y stuff and some quotes from Lea, the ultimate outsidy gal!
Book: Braving the Lake
#2002 'Dive Right In'
I was almost tempted to keep this one for myself I liked it so much! I really think this one's cool (personally, I like sea animals too..) and how it's so perfect for the book!
Book: Dive Right In

So here are the eleven bookmarks that I made! I hope that if you found one, that you enjoy it, and even if you haven't that you've enjoyed some of these pictures!

Anyways, if you've found more than one, please pass on the extras so we can find more AG lovers around here! (No, I can't release where I live, sorry!)

Here's a couple bonus pictures of the ones that I checked out! I went over the titles and realized that 'A Winning Goal' is missing... it was probably on the couch... or on the bed... or on my desk... or on my shelves... or anywhere I had read it!

And a close up one so that you can know which ones to look for!
Here's a hint: if you're looking in your library system, think trees!

  2. What a super awesome idea, Light4theLord! I hope I'll find one if my library has some ISU books. Your bookmarks are so beautiful! I couldn't pick one favorite, so here are my three favorites: The "Take Center Stage" one, the "Dream" one, and the "Extra special, Truly Me" one. You did such a great job on them! :D

    1. I'm glad you like them! It would be so cool if you found one, especially since it would mean we were in the same state (though it's rather unlikely, but I've been praying for more friends that love AG!)!

    3. I was just thinking about that, Madi! It's really cool to find so many AG-lovers that seem like really good friends just because I've read almost all of their posts and stuff! It's like what you said, a whole community!! It's really cool!
