life ~ a photostory

~ a life update in the form of a photostory ~ this is truly Julia's aesthetic, entirely by accident, most of her closet is blue and white stripes. she's always either wearing her airplane propeller necklace or her dream necklace, wearing double dutch braids.  Once upon a time, there was a girl named Julia. She was a dreamer, one with a good imagination and wide horizons. Some of her happiest days as a teenager were spent taking photos of dolls, lying in the street to get the perfect angle. Her dolls were like built in friends, companions wherever she went, on trips and vacations and outings.  As she grew up, Julia grew busier and busier, and high school was a lot of work. But she had goals and she did everything she could to reach them. One of them was graduating two years early, which took up a lot of time and energy. After hours upon hours of studying, she finally graduated.  Taking a gap year beginning in 2020, the weirdest year of the century, she had no lack of other thi

Why Don’t We Celebrate?!!

Why Don’t We Celebrate?!!

The girls were hanging out in their room, spending their last few free minutes doing their own thing.

Elly was listening to a new playlist on her MP3,

Julie, in her bathrobe, brushed her already-silky hair… for the twentieth time,

while Amy played with her Madame Alexander ‘Look Alike’ doll.

Josefina, listening and watching her sisters, put in her retainer.

Everything and everyone seemed normal… except Sam.

She appeared normal, like all the others, writing in her journal like she did every night. However, the page was still blank, and she stared at her paper without looking at it.

Suddenly, Sam sat up. "Why don't we celebrate?!"

"Celebrate what?" Amy asked.
"Why don't we celebrate our birthdays?!" Samantha exclaimed.
"Come to think of it," Amy mused. "We don't... I don't know why we wouldn't..."
"Exactly." Sam commented.
"Is it because we're adopted?" Samantha inquired of no one in particular. THAT got everyone's attention.
"Just cause we're adopted doesn't mean we can't celebrate!" Elly added, a bit defensive.

"Well, I know MY birthday. So we can celebrate THAT!" Amy smirked. "July 27th!"
"I don't know mine..." Elly murmured, turning away.
"I don't know mine either," Julie comforted her sister.

“We don’t have to know our birthdays,” Josefina, the peacemaker, said calmly. “I happen to know a few other girls who are adopted- they celebrate their Gotcha day, the day they were adopted.”

“That’s a great idea!” Julie exclaimed. “Except that three of us share Gotcha days. Me, Elly, and you, Josie. Ohhhh, that can mean a bigger party!!!!”

The doll, journal, hairbrush, and MP3 didn’t even seem to exist anymore, tossed into a pile.
The girls immediately began planning a party. "Someone can figure out our birthdays sometime.. and our gotcha days."
"Let's Celebrate!"
